EMail Lists and Bulliten Boards related to China adoptions.

There are a number of e-mail Mailing Lists related to China Adoption. With the consolidation of websites, these have all ended up as part of the Yahoo Groups constellation. There are several major lists, and many smaller ones. Ron Margolin has created and maintains a consolidated a listing of the smaller groups on the 'Raising Chinese Children' listserve that he moderates. A big thanks to Ron for his hard work keeping these lists up to date.

Subscribing to the Lists

These lists are now part of the YahooGroups program. You must subscribe by going to the YahooGroups website and registering with Yahoo Groups. Then use the links below to take you directly to the groups that you are interested in. Here is Ron's very detailed page of Yahoo Group Instructions.

Major Lists

Most of these are quite active, you should probably start out getting these in digest form rather than the individual message version.

• A list for pre-China families is called a-parents-china.

• A list for post-China families is called post-adopt-china

• The Raising Chinese Children list is a friendly and supportive community for discussion of issues of adopted Chinese children who have reached preschool and school ages.

• The RCC complete List of Lists on Yahoo Groups.

• Lists of Groups

• Adoption Agency-Related Yahoo!Groups A list of discussion groups associated with particular adoption agencies. In general, membership in these groups is limited to clients of that agency.

• China Adoptive Families Activities and Interests Yahoo!Groups A list of Yahoo! Groups which appeal to the diverse interests of China adoptive families, including hobbies, posting photos, books, writing, and religious activities. Not all are China-specific. Groups with fewer than 10 members have been omitted.

• DTC YahooGroups and Web Sites A list of active Dossier-to-China Yahoo! Groups, according to the month your dossier went to China, and their associated web sites.

• Diverse Family Types Yahoo!Groups A list of Yahoo! Groups for diverse family types. Yes, almost all our families are diverse. This is a list of discussion groups with particular appeal to subsets of the China adoption community - singles, families who have adopted older children, etc. Included are both China adoption groups and non-China-specific groups. Groups with less than 10 members have been omitted.

• General China Adoption Yahoo!Groups A list of Yahoo! Groups that deal with many aspects of the China adoption process and raising adopted Chinese children, and therefore have appeal to broad segments of the China adoption community. Groups with fewer than 10 members have been omitted.

• Health and Development Yahoo!Groups A comprehensive list of China adoption Yahoo! Groups and a selected list of other groups related to health and development that may be of interest to our members.

• International China Adoption Yahoo!Groups A list of China adoption discussion groups from outside the United States. Groups with fewer than 10 members have been omitted.

• Local FCC and Other Regional Yahoo!Groups A comprehensive list of discussion groups related to local, state and regional chapters of Families with Children from China, and other regional groups of interest.

• Orphanage- and Province-specific Yahoo!Groups A (hopefully) complete list of specific orphanage discussion groups. They are listed alphabetically by city (or province) with the province in parentheses, followed by the URL of the group.

There are also the International Adoption Message Boards that have a significant section on China adoptions
